The 2024 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is an unmistakable performance car. This four-door sedan, built on a platform introduced in 2005, has steadily increased in power over the years. Its incredible acceleration rivals high-end luxury cars like the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S and Porsche Panamera Turbo S, but its interior doesn’t match their opulence. Nevertheless, if you want a thrilling, family-friendly muscle car that will leave everyone entertained, the Hellcat is an excellent choice.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The heart of the Hellcat is its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. Producing a staggering 717 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, it’s incredibly powerful. The Redeye model ups the ante with an even more potent version, generating 797 horsepower. And the top-tier Jailbreak package pushes the limits to 807 horsepower. All this power is channeled to the rear wheels through a swift-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. While exhilarating, such immense power demands careful throttle control to maintain grip. Additionally, replacing those large rear tires can be costly. The standard widebody configuration improves handling and cornering by using wider, grippier tires and a stiffer chassis. However, the widebody’s front tires don’t provide as much road feedback as we’d prefer.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Hellcat’s interior is essentially the same as the standard Charger’s, offering similar space and design. It does, however, come with a range of standard features and customization options. All Hellcat models include a 340-kph speedometer, leather seats, and climate-controlled front seats. The Carbon & Suede package adds genuine carbon fiber accents and a suede-like headliner for a more athletic look. The cabin provides ample storage for small items, and the trunk can easily accommodate seven carry-on bags.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The Hellcat comes equipped with an 8.4-inch touchscreen that seamlessly integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The large, responsive display, combined with physical controls, makes navigating the system effortless. For those who crave an immersive audio experience to accompany their high-performance driving, Dodge offers an impressive 19-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system.
