The 10 Second Review
The EQE53 AMG represents the only mid-size sedan under the brand’s performance banner. Its unique egg-shaped exterior and somewhat modest estimated driving range are compromises typical of electric performance cars. However, it makes up for it with the standard Hyperscreen infotainment system, loaded with AI-powered features that tech enthusiasts will love. Plus, it delivers sharp handling and quick acceleration, especially with the optional 677-hp powertrain. Yet, some may miss the distinctive engine sounds of AMG’s gas models.

The In-Depth Review
EV, Transmission, and Performance

Equipped with AMG-tailored electric motors both at the front and rear, the EQE53 boasts all-wheel drive capability. These motors deliver substantially more power compared to the standard Benz-branded EQE variant, offering 617 horsepower in its base setup and an optional Dynamic Plus package pushing it to 677 horsepower. During our track testing, the EQE53 sprinted to 100 kph in a mere 2.8 seconds. Precision in handling is ensured by the inclusion of a standard rear-wheel steering system, while the air suspension system maintains a comfortable ride, effortlessly absorbing sharp impacts and effectively isolating the cabin from road disturbances.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
With the AMG EQE53, you get the familiar interior setup found in the standard model, but with some notable differences. Uniquely designed seats and additional performance displays integrated into the information screens set the AMG variant apart. Given the inherent quietness of EV powertrains, artificial sounds have been introduced to enhance the auditory experience both inside and outside the vehicle.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Mercedes equips the EQE53 AMG with its Hyperscreen, a comprehensive infotainment system that stretches across the entire dashboard. Comprising multiple touchscreens, this sleek black panel incorporates a digital gauge display, a central touchscreen for infotainment, and an additional screen dedicated to the front-seat passenger. Standard features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-dash navigation, and a premium Burmester stereo system.
