The 10 Second Review
The Audi RS Etron GT is the futuristic looking cousin of the Porsche Taycan. Audi has incorporated a convenient 270-kW DC fast charging feature. While the interior might feel snug, and getting comfortable could pose challenges for some, once inside, there’s an abundance of technological amenities, premium materials, and stylish elements. Audi’s swiftest EV delivers an exhilarating driving experience and boasts an appealing design. However, EVs with greater range present a more compelling case for embracing fully electric mobility.

The In-Depth Review
EV, Transmission, and Performance

The RS E-Tron variant reaches a peak of 637 horsepower. This power is harnessed for thrilling acceleration through its innovative two-speed rear transmission, featuring a first gear for quick launches and a second gear for efficient cruising. A sophisticated cooling system ensures the battery pack can handle repeated use without suffering from typical heat-related degradation. Unlike traditional one-pedal driving, Audi opts for a more intuitive driving experience with its sporty EV. Optional features include all-wheel steering, adjustable air suspension, and a range of wheel sizes from 19 to 21 inches. Our test drive of the RS version showcased a smooth ride, confident handling, and customizable regenerative braking settings accessible via steering wheel paddles. In our performance tests, the RS e-tron GT sprinted to 100 kph in just 3.2 seconds, i’m pretty sure most people haven’t experienced speed like that.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Within the E-tron GT, a blend of imaginative design and practicality awaits. Its interior features a striking angular dashboard adorned with multiple digital displays, complemented by sophisticated trim finishes. Audi presents a range of interior options, including leather upholstery in various colors and a leather-free package crafted from recycled materials. Luxury abounds with an array of premium amenities available, such as ambient interior lighting, a head-up display, and front seats that offer both heating and cooling functions, along with massage capabilities. Positioned close to the ground, the front seats enhance the sporty driving experience, while the rear outboard seats offer generous legroom, though headroom is somewhat limited, and the middle seat provides modest accommodation. Storage solutions abound, with ample space for luggage behind the rear seats and in the front trunk (frunk).
Infotainment and Connectivity
Unlike some other Audi models that rely heavily on touchscreens, the e-tron GT’s infotainment system offers a visually pleasing experience with a variety of popular features, all accessible through a different approach. A 10.1-inch central touchscreen is still present, but it works alongside physical controls on the steering wheel and voice recognition software for a more versatile user experience. Other features include not the best wireless charging, and a top-notch 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
