Toyota's bZ4X Touring Arrives in the UAE From AED 184,900

Al-Futtaim Toyota has launched the bZ4X Touring in the UAE, priced from AED 184,900. It is a fully electric SUV with two motors, all-wheel drive and up to 480 km of range, and it is on sale now through Al-Futtaim Toyota.

Al-Futtaim calls it the first battery electric Toyota to be launched in the UAE. That holds for official sales. Earlier bZ4X models are already listed in the UAE by independent dealers and exporters, mostly as Chinese-spec 2024 and 2025 cars, so this is the first electric Toyota sold new through the brand's official channel here. There is one trim, the VXR AWD, so the AED 184,900 price buys the fully loaded car.

Performance and range

The two motors give a combined 375 hp, and Toyota quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. That is properly quick for a family SUV, and quicker than most buyers will ever need on Sheikh Zayed Road. Drive modes include ECO and NORMAL.

Power comes from a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, good for up to 480 km on the WLTP cycle. DubiCars reports that it charges at up to 22 kW on AC and up to 150 kW on a DC fast charger. Al-Futtaim hasn't published charge times, and 150 kW is well short of the fastest EVs on sale here, so plan on a longer coffee stop on a long trip.

Off-road kit

The Touring has some proper off-road kit. X-MODE, developed by Subaru, has three settings for low-traction and uneven ground, and Downhill Assist Control manages your speed on descents. Bridge-type roof rails come as standard, along with a large roof spoiler and rear side spoilers, and the car sits on black-painted 20-inch alloy wheels.

We would still keep it to graded tracks and light dunes until we have tried it, but the hardware is there for a weekend in Hatta or a camping trip with the roof loaded.

Space and tech

The car is 4,830 mm long on a 2,850 mm wheelbase, and the boot holds 603 litres, which is plenty for a family's weekend bags. Up front, a 14-inch touchscreen handles navigation, climate, audio and the car's settings, and there is a nine-speaker JBL sound system and wireless charging for two phones. The cabin comes in black or light grey.

Safety

Toyota Safety Sense is standard. It includes Pre-Collision Braking and Proactive Driving Assist. Al-Futtaim hasn't announced warranty terms for the car or its battery.

Price and verdict

At AED 184,900, the bZ4X Touring costs real money for a Toyota, but you get a lot of performance and equipment for it, plus the backing of Toyota's official network.
