The 10 Second Review
The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor is like a mini-me of the powerful F-150 Raptor, built for tackling tough terrain. Imagine the F-150 Raptor shrunk down a bit, that’s the Ranger Raptor. Just like its bigger sibling, it has wide fenders that bulge out, chunky tires for good grip, increased ground clearance to get over obstacles, and a tough-looking grille that screams adventure.
Under the hood, it packs a serious punch with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that cranks out 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough muscle to leave pavement behind and conquer off-road trails. While it shares the same strong foundation (the frame) as the regular Ranger, the Raptor gets special upgrades for off-roading. It has a special suspension that allows the wheels to move up and down a lot, perfect for absorbing bumps and jumps. It also comes with different driving modes that you can switch between depending on the terrain you’re on, whether it’s sand, rocks, or mud.
Pros
- Narrower Footprint for tight trails
- Prompt Accelaration
- Fantastic Suspension
- Very Off-Road capable
Cons
- Sun Glare on Instrument Cluster
- Tyre Noise
The In-Depth Review
Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The Ranger Raptor packs a serious punch with a twin-turbo V6 engine similar to the Ford Bronco Raptor. This engine cranks out a lot of power (405 horsepower) and pulling force (430 lb-ft of torque). It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive for optimal performance on and off-road allowing the vehicle to accelerate to 100km/h in 5.3s. To handle tough terrain, the Raptor has a tougher suspension, higher ride height, and wider tracks compared to the regular Ranger. It also comes with special off-road tires, special shocks, and an active exhaust system.
Because it’s smaller than the F-150 Raptor, the Ranger Raptor is much easier to maneuver on tight trails. On the other hand, the Ranger Raptor’s all-terrain tires affect its stopping distance and cornering ability compared to a regular truck. You might need to increase following distance and be mindful of its limits when driving on the road.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Ranger Raptor’s interior gets a bit of an upgrade over the regular Ranger, but it’s not a huge transformation. While there’s still a lot of plastic (including some rubberized bits), Ford throws in some sportier accents to make it feel more exciting. The most noticeable changes are the bucket seats that hug you better during off-roading, red trim scattered around the cabin, and a sportier steering wheel. The steering wheel even gets fancy red stitching at the top to remind you it’s meant for performance. Additionally, you still get all the same comfort features as the regular Ranger, like separate temperature controls for driver and passenger, heated seats up front, and the ability to start the truck remotely. Just remember, the Ranger Raptor only comes in one setup: a crew cab with a five-foot bed in the back.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The Ranger Raptor comes loaded with tech! The center console features a massive 12.4-inch touchscreen running Ford’s newest Sync infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connect wirelessly, and you can get a Wi-Fi hotspot (with a subscription) to keep everyone connected on the go. There are plenty of USB ports for charging devices, and you can even opt for built-in navigation and a premium 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system for an even more enjoyable ride.
